Wet Jet intakes, whats the hype about?

Whats the benefit of using the wet-jet intake with the 46? I'm new to the Yamaha scene, and in the process of building an engine. On a 61X bottom end, whats the advantage of using the wet-jet intake and 46, as opposed to just opening up the stock manifold and bolting a 46 on it?
Reason I ask is I have a 46, and a stock intake. Thanks!

I am looking at doing the same thing with a stock manifold and a 46 carb, there is a guy local and said it made apretty big difference on his blaster, he was supprised he didn't think it would be worth the time... I wonder how much of a difference the stuffers make?

Saying it made a difference to put a 46 on a modded stock intake? Or switching to the wet-jet intake?
