the filter with the hole will let air in with less restriction than the intact filter. This reduces manifold vacuum, affecting popoff.

This makes me want to punch a hole in an old filter and put it on a flow bench to compare vacuum against one that isn't damaged. I wouldn't have thought the fiters had enough restriction in them to cause those sorts of problems.
I could see running one pre-filter vs no pre-filter or something along those lines. But what do I know, it took me half a summer to tune my ski in... and I run BlackJacks (which will be for sale shortly)

When I see stuff like this it really throws up a few red flags. Like already said, Yes the flame arrestor has a hole in it which is not good, if you run it as is, it's not going to seize your motor but it may be hard to keep tuned correctly. I doubt the hole was put there to pour fuel in as a poor man's primer because it looks like there's a primer on the dash. I also noted that it has two different flame arrestors which means the seller threw any old thing on it to just get rid of it or worse, he maintains his stuff in a Mickey Mouse manner. BTW it looks like it's a 1998-2002 SXIpro (with the graphic removed) Its has the small fuel tank and ugly green motor that SXIpros had. The pipe is a Factory Pipe Aftermarket and is a very good pipe. It looks like it may have the water injection system on it also. It's Clearly been modified in who knows how many ways, so unless you know what you're getting into you may want to keep searching for another ski that is as close to stock as possible
