I know its a dual carb and such but is that a hole in the air filter or flame arrester. if so is that supposed to be there?

your help will be much appreciated and ill be sure to update if this ski checks out.

its my first ski i dont really care. i like the 750 sx and it come with a trailer so im good. thanks though.

I was just giving you a hard time about it being a Kawi. Defenifely address the issue with the F/A. You don't want to run it like that

My buddy rides a 750 and loves the thing. It is well built and quite fast. Handles different than the Superjet but you will still definitely enjoy riding it.

The popoff pressure for the two carbs (which should be the same) will be different and the engine will run weird or even lean.
It will also be much easier for the motor to ingest water, possibly bending piston rods and destroying the engine.
The motor could ingest a screw, a zip tie, whatever floats around in your bilge and destroy the topend.

Look, if you're worried about a $50 fix, jetskiing isn't for you.

Yes that is a hole in the air filter and yes it is a problem.

Also very important is to run the exact same filter on both carbs, running a different filter could affect your pop off between carbs.
If you dont fix it you could suck crap into the engine and possibly damage it. I would also replace the other filter at the same time so you dont have to worry about running issues. Its cheap at this point to fix it correctly.
gotta love the kawi haters lol, youll get used to that on here. I did.

How will that affect pop off pressure? Honest question.

the filter with the hole will let air in with less restriction than the intact filter. This reduces manifold vacuum, affecting popoff.
