SXR Weight reduction

rub rails thay run along the side of the hull front to back where the hull is glud together the rails are held on by 7 rivtts. I cut off the fiberglass just the top of the rivtte hole from back to front. so I have a 1 1/8 of vertical lip.

Get a LiFePo battery with better specs than the Standard lead acid batteries and be over ten lbs lighter.

Just weight my Li-po 36. 6 oz with 300 cca

I have a 2011 sxr Im working on the same thing LESS WEIGHT So far so good everthing I took off or change was a 1/3 of the weight from factory.
Air box
Pole
water box
Rubb rails
Hood
All that #$%&in glue
Gas tank
Battery
That chunk of rubber from the water box to back of the ski
And grinding out all that glass
When I'm all done should be 70-80 lbs of weight loss. I started at 391 lbs dry

Well did not work out the way I wanted .All back together now got the weigth of it 337 lbs dry. cant do any more .

Why would anyone get a cart tank to run less gas?? Why not just put 'less gas' in the stock tank. The tanks weigh nothing.

Trinity hood makes a big difference. (Weight on top) Even the $500 dollar one is really light and strong.

Removing the electrical box bracket completely is a good weight loss too!

The stock tank is 11.6 lbs. A cart tank is 2.3 lbs and holds 13 litres.
