I want to lighten up my X2, how many of you have tried and what weight did you end up with. I am going freestyle/freeride and want it as light as possible.

The only thing I can think of is the water box. I think the Stocker is stainless , it's pretty heavy and holds alot of water. The mariner ones are aluminum and area lot lighter and hold considerably less water. They are loud though.

weight don't mean jack in the surf. (for the most part)

on top of that... it's plenty light already... what is left to shave, besides the 1 inch of the back and that won't make diddly

Pete has his reinforced to handle the ocean abuse so I think you really want to add some weight via reinforcing so your boat survives .

Pete sank his reinforced one with ease and now has a more reinforced one which when sitting next to a stocker was much lower in the water .

I cut about 2.5 inches straight off my stock x2 ride plate and it does make the nose ride higher and feel lighter.
750cc's helps also!

Oh yea, but I am thinking of freestyling it next year and shaving some weight would help with the flat water roll. Small gas tank and battery for starters, then absoulutely everything that I can take off is going. 750 power going in next spring, should be awsome. I probably only get to the ocean 1/2 dozen times per year,(4hr drive) so for now not worried about reinforcement.
