Personally I don't think you can go wrong with either one. Not sure what Steve charges for his setup, but Jeff just ran a limited time promo for hood and nosepiece for $399.

Jeff said he was thinking about making $399 the permanent price for his hood and nosepiece.

If he can sell them in bulk like he has been I bet he could afford that price, but I don't see it happening. For some reason I was thinking that he was selling them for $499 which is a more realistic price for the hood and nose. That is w/in $50 of the retail price if you deduct the $200 billet bracket. Still $500 for a hood would still a great deal.

Any idea what the weight of the Diablo hood is compared to a stock hood?
Is it lighter, or just lower?

Thanks.

definatly lighter than stock by a few lbs, although never weighed them back to back..

are the 399 hood diablo's? or soemthing slightly different? i looked at mine and bronsons (fl crackers) hoods this past weekend and mine was slightly heavier/beefier...but not much..

it's the same hood, just a lesser process, I would imagine.

Looking at the Waterdawg website, I got the impression the $399 hood
was the same height as a stock hood, and the Diablo was a lowered one.

the stock height hood is called the "freeride hood" the 399 hood is just like the diablo but a slightly different layup.

Hmm. So is this 399 hood just not listed on the website?

I just see a 749 Diablo and a 499 Freeride.

it was on sale at that price for the month of march.call jeff direct and talk to him.im sure he will have to draw the line somewhere but i know that he filled several orders at that price after the sale was over:wink:

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
I just saw a Waterdawg hood for the first time this last weekend on Butch's ski and I must say its a quality hood. It wont be breaking anytime soon IMO. I rode his ski for quite awhile over a couple of days and the WDK hood fits excellent and is more watertight than a duck retrievin' dogs a-hole!
It makes my Wammer 4 hold look potato chip thin and the weight feels about the same, cant say for sure though, and i dont really care. I would rather it be beefy and weigh a bit more and not break than be lighter and crack to shiat! I give it 2 thumbs up!

I cant wait to get me one!
