SXR Waterbox install help needed

Hey peoples,

Noob here
2010 Kawi 800 SXR
Just wondering how easy it is to install TDR waterbox, i know people will say why use one, all it does is give you sound and no other advantages, but all i want is the sound.
Im no stunt man, just learning and wouldnt mind an accompanied sound.

Every thread that speaks of this waterbox, someone askd how to install, but never a clear answer.

Do you just pull the fuel tank and then you can pull the stock one out and put the new one in?

Any help appreciated

pull the fuel tank, loosen the hose clamps, undo the rubber straps. Loosen the hose from the exhaust, remove, remove hose from exhaust to waterbox from the waterbox. remove the hose going from the waterbox to the outlet at the waterbox. Take out old waterbox. Intall new box in reverse order.

I personally have not installed a TDR but have read many posts about it. From what I have learned, the box is smaller than the stock. Most people end up wrapping the box with a few layers of turf so that the rubber straps will secure it tightly to the hull. You also may have to add some turf below the box to prop it for correct alignment to the exhaust hoses. PM Shonuff for he has installed one. I will be helping my buddy install one in a month or so.

I've installed TDR boxes in both my skis.

If you bought a baffled one, drill a hole in the baffle. If you bought a powerspray one, don't hook up the powerspray.

The install is really easy, Kahuna described it perfectly.

Good call on the TDR, it will help get that SX-R nose up a little and make is sound right.

Just curious when reading this, I bought a TDR waterbox and followed those directions and am having trouble. I have the fuel tank completely disconnected from everything, but won it doesn't come out that easy, so I unbolted the motor thinking I could get another inch or two, but thats not helping. I have also tried taking off the pipe and still no luck. This is my first mod to my SXR so I am pretty new about these skis. If you installed yours just curious how you did it?

i just got done stripping a whole sxr literally an hour ago first thing i tried to pull was the tank wasnt happening you need to take the metal pipe coupler before waterbox off and kind of twist the tank to get it out,the motors so easy to take out i ended up moving it out of the way to get the fuel tank out
