Super Jet Water , rust and sludge in 701 flywheel cover

I have a 701 that is constantly taking in small amounts of water into the flywheel cover, Every few weeks I pull the cover and a 1/2 oz of water spills out along with a black sludge sprayed from the bendix area. The flywheel and bendix are rusting up too. I'm on my 4th bendix in as many months. I've tried every type of gasket, grease, silicone, etc and nothing works. What other entry points are there for the moisture to enter? I've been back flushing the ski from the pissers. Could that have anything to do with it? Would a hairline crack in the case draw water in? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

Entry points are the gasket, the stator wires & grommet, and the starter.
I use a light coat of 1211 on a new gasket, put some 1211 around the wire grommet and the wires, and I put a light coat of 1211 on the neck of the starter. Never a problem.

Have you been sealing where the starter mounts to the cases? Also the stator fitting can leak but that sounds like too much water. The back flushing shouldn't affect the stator. Have you tried laying the flywheel cover on a piece of glass or other flat surface to check that it is not warped, dented...etc

The cover looks straight as can be, I laid it down on a glass table yesterday.. Everything is sealed with 1211 from the starter to the stator wire plug, and the cover gasket too. this is nuts

Is there a way to pressure test to check for leaks? I cant seem to find anything by eyeballing it.

Front crank seal? You have probably sealed everything else so well that you are not experiencing a air leak?

There was a thread a while back where someone threaded a nipple into an old flywheel cover and pressurized the front cover area with a few lbs of air once it was bolted up. They then sprayed soapy water at it and found a hairline crack near the stator grommet.

Might have been jump on it?

Good call Matt, are you sure its water and not mix gas? Although that wouldnt explain the rust. Use a new stator cover gasket each time as well
