Water in engine

Hi,

After some advice please, does anybody have any ideas why i keep getting water inside the engine? SJ with twin carbs riva air filters, Bpipe, and a few other mods.

Runs ok once ive got water out by removing one plug at a time and turning engine over???

Keep having to have carbs stripped and water cleaned out?

Thanks

Scott

If its without ingesting via water in the compartment, then it is probably a head gasket leak. If its ingestion while subbing, etc. It may be you need to go back to the stock F/A (is best to keep out water).

Also may be water in the fuel. To check for that try and siphon out the very bottom of tank (where water settles)

Mods are: Factory mod pipe, stock carbs, ADA head 185psi, V force reeds, solas 12-17, riva filters. current jetting is 2.0needle and dull silver spring, 75 pilot and 140 main. The jetting has changed now, not sure what to as i dont do the work on the ski. Two bilge pumps.

check your fuel lines...makes sure no cracks or fuel in the bilge.....make sure the little cap underneath the water separator is halfway unscrewed OR out......

if all looks good there, I'd check my orings next thing.......

again, make sure your fuel filler assy doesn thave any cracks either...

Just changed fuel as i thought that was the problem. Did a few subs and a fountain today before it took in the water also tipped ski onto its side a couple of times, but not sure if their was water in the engine compartment at that time.

if youre doing some wave jumping, subs, fountains, ..etc. with the stock hood and those air filters, thats yoru problem.

we used to at least tape off the holes on the front of the stock hood when we'd go surf riding. the stock hood takes on alot of water, and if youve just got conical air filters in your ski, then the water is just going straight into your carbs as soon as you land a jump or sub long enough..

you should at least put the stock air box back on.

and carry a set of idoks magic spark plugs.

Buuuuuuurrrrrrrnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!! oh yeah!!!!!
