Super Jet Water in engine bay

I took my 90 sn sj out today for the first time. I dumped it a couple times and then I noticed it riding weird. I pulled off the hood and there was quite a bit of water. Up to the bottom of the engine. I checked the seal and it's completely unglued on one. I'm hoping that's the issue.

Do you have a bilge pump? Is your stock siphon not working?
Your hood seal could contribute to water leaking in, but generally the squarenose hood vent/air system takes in a ton of water to begin with..electric bilge pump is an absolute must.

No I'm definitely putting one in now. And as far as the stock siphon I don't think it is because after I got home with it the engine bay still had a lot of water. The same amount it did when I pulled it out

I'm gonna replace the seals and install bilge pump next weekend and hopefully that fixes it.

Make sure there aren't any debris in the siphon. The siphon only works when you're on plane and cruising around for a while. It's slow, but it helps.

If you're gonna replace the hood seal, contact jetmaniac and order a Watcon hood seal. Very reasonably priced.

Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk[/QUOTEdo what I did, and buy a $20 inflatable pool and test for leaks. Or just take it to the lake, set it in, and look for leaks. Also male sure all water cooling lines are connected otherwise that's definetly ur culprit.

Lol. Dude make sure all ur water cooling lines are connected to the engine, oyher wise water will pour out from them. Hook up a hose to ur engine and make sure all ur water cooling system is sealed. Thats what I'd do. Check for hull leaks as well, set it in the water at the lake and pop the hood PFF and look fer leaks. Hope this helps

Reason why it was running weird was probably due to water splashing into the carb. Not a rare occurrence!

Is there some kind of diagram or picture you can link me to for hooking up the water cooling lines? Still new to the scene.

My bad lol. Do you no what this nozzle is? Nothing was connected to it so maybe this could have been a problem?

That is most certainly your problem. Without capping that fitting your cooling system will pump right into your bilge.
It can be used to for dual cooling/ a bypass/or a flush hook up.

What should I use to cap it? Is it something I'm gonna have to order it or can I get it at a hardware store?
