Super Jet Water in engine bay

How did it get like that? Is a detached hose flopping around in there? Do you have a overboard water pisser that is not being used? Don't cap it IMO! Use it!

You should hook with someone local and really have them go over everything with you.

It never had anything on it. There was originally a 650 in there when I got it. And I bought a 701 which is in there now. And it had that. The other motor didnt. How do I use it? I can go take more detailed pics of my engine bay.

Post pics of engine bay and the side of the hull with the water pissers.....

You are filling your hull with water as you ride for sure!

Your stock bilge HAD to be working or you would have sunk for sure.

Utilize that cooling line for sure even if it means adding a pisser on the side of the boat....or T it in I guess....

Here is some pics

Oh I see you took a bone stock 650 and plopped a 701 in it and you need a overboard water bypass fitting....at least one. Start the ski on the trailer at the ramps with the hood off...see if that is the only 3/8" barb shooting water out.

Backflushing is just that...running water through the system...from a hose....clears it out....well 99% of the time :(...unless you get a shell or stone jammed in the intake elbow of the pump. :/

most of us backflush with something like this:

You jam them in to these and turn the hose on...:

that was either used to dump some water out thru a pisser or for an engine flush fitting. your boat is likely still single cooling and you dont have any pissers. Id either plug it if you ride solely fresh water or preferably get urself a flush fitting so u can hook up a garden hose. heres a pic of a similar setup to yours I just finished up.

I only ride fresh water. Maybe one day I'll make it to surf. I love in missouri. Not much salt water around here. What should I cap it with?

I would remove it and cap it with a brass plug. Capping that 3/8" fitting with rubber will fail IMO.

Why not use it though? It is just one drill hole, 12$ for a pisser, and a little 3/8" hose. Heck I would give them to you if I had them.

Then you be able to see good water flow out of your boat AND have easy access for back flushing/driveway testing.

Yes if you cap the hose outlet end good and run the T overboard....

When you backflush though you will need to hold your finger over the pisser and block it.....otherwise you will only be flushing a small section of hose....

In the middle of installing the bilge. Put the bilge by the gas can and it pumps the water out into the foot tray. I put the thru hull fitting where the choke cable used to be
