Super Jet Wamiltons lightweight superjet reviews?

Im considering buying a Wamiltons lightweight superjet hull but unsure exactly what makes them special, if they are special at all. Ive looked around for reviews and feedback of their hulls but cant seem to find much. Are they rare? How much lighter are they really? Any input would be appreciated.

I've wondered the same. I thought about building one as my first Yamaha ski and going from there.

Mark likes his stock engine one. I believe I rode the one @BIRDMAN has, our buddy had it out one day. I felt like it would take nothing to flip/roll that thing after getting off my SXR. It wasn't mine so I didn't try anything.

It's a freeride hull, wouldn't even bother with flat water f.s. on a superjet it's too big and not much lighter than stock.

The one you're looking at is also a 2008 which does not handle the way freestyle skis should. Better off with 96-07.

Im not looking for a flatwater freestyle hull and im not considering anything but a superjet, I mainly ride surf. If im riding flatwater im carving in the sloughs or racing through the creeks. Im going to build another superjet but stumbled across a 2011 wamiltons superjet hull and realized there isnt much talk about them.

It would probably work well for that. It's reinforced, probably has a better hood and nose, scupper and trim/dual cooling, ready to rip

I seem to recall Its a wamiltons top deck on a superjet bottom. Does that sound right? That would explain how they make it lightweight. Not that its much lighter that a superjet but from what I gather with the hood taken in account its around 20 lbs lighter that a sj.

The ones I've seen are a sj copy with wammer hood/nose. I think you're right probably -20lbs from the hood/nose

My SXR weighs as much as a stock SJ, took 55+ lbs off her fat a$s. I've ridden SJs(all years) and 550s, they never felt flippable. LOL good try

Your twisting my words and not contributing anything to my thread. You obviously skipped the part where I said I'm not concerned with fw freestyle. Your sxr actually weighs much more than a sj and save your time describing how you dropped 55 lbs because I don't give a poop.

The things you need to consider are cost vs benefit

In surf you need 2 things to have to have fun
-reliable engine
-keeping water out of the hull at all costs

The wammer ski has a better hood and a scupper for keeping water out. Some Scuppers leak which is a nightmare.

The reinforcement in the hull is just extra insurance you have to be a really balls out rider to actually need that(not counting Js or sn hulls)

It might be shortened at the back which could help or hurt you.

Foamed tray vs non foamed tray is another consideration.

Food for thought.

I don't know why people say leaky scuppers are a nightmare, as soon as they start leaking swap them out with a new one for like $50 and you're good for another couple of years. Scuppers are 1000 times better than bilges in my opinion

Doesn't help if they start leaking on the water on your ski goes down. And most people don't want a wearable, needs to be changed to keep their ski from sinking part design.
I really wish someone made a superjet that was like 50lbs lighter but otherwise a normal superjet. Maybe shortened just a tiny bit. Something that can still rec ride and chase boats yet be light enough to do some really trick tricks lol.
