The chamber is a wet design. There is no outer jacket. I run it dry from 5000 to redline and I don't drag race or top speed it for more than just a few seconds.
The price was steep. By the time I paid for shipping it was just over $1000. I got a pretty good deal on a R&D pipe with a cracked chamber so my total cost is close to that of a brand new b pipe with carbon chamber. Does it work better than a bpipe? I don't know. ATS_Scott intends to try out both by next year.
