Vin Number ?? Stolen

Is there a website or way I can check a VIN number on a Kawasaki "90's" to ensure it's not a stolen ski before I purchase. Very nice race ski for cheep with no title. Owner will give a bill of sale and states I need to get a salavage title. Says it was never titled since it went from the Kawa factory to race ski and never has been a rec ski...

Any help appreaciated...

Dont know about site to go to, but on boats/watercraft its called a HIN(hull identification number). Might help you with your search.

Chances are that if it is truly a factory Kawi boat it will not have a Hin number on it to check if it is stolen. A lot of those hulls were custom hand laid, not your typical OEM hull.

Get the HIN number and go to your local police or sheriff's office. Have them run a NCIC check on it.

oh really, move to Alabama.......... "NO TITLES ON WATERCRAFT OR BOATS" And , if it was in a TITLE State, and you never registered it and only raced, then it would not be titled either unless the dealer sent in the paperwork to begin with.
