Other video maker Samsung 10.1

Im having trouble using the video maker app on my samsung 10.1 tablet . Im trying to edit videos from my gopro that have been downloaded to my tablet. If i open the videos to view the file, then try to reopen in video maker it tells me that the gopro videos are not supported.
I have been able to edit videos in video maker that have been taken with the tablet.
I have heard that it might be the file extension it is saved on or to. My videos on the tablet are saved as mp4 as are the gopro videos. Not sure if this is the file extension or not.
Has anyone tried this on their tablet or used the video maker app on another device
Im not to tech savy so I will try to do my best to understand.
Thanks

the platform the tablets work on and the limited software they have means they cant support certain files

i tried converting my go pro footage and still couldnt edit it on the tablet and you cant down load the go pro editting software to a tab as they are not supported on the android platform

bottom line is i believe to edit go pro you need to do it on a pc/mac

Is it a Windows 8 RT machine? Or full Windows 8? Even the best dual core full Windows 8 machine will suck for vid edits IMO.

You need a lot of horsepower to do it right IMO.

I just purchased a gopro hero2 hd, my computer and laptop are older. I cant playback or edit any HD video on either, but I can on my PS3. read the manual a little more closely, you need a computer with processor speed of 2.4gHz or faster. Time for a new PC, but trying to find one with windows7. That windows8 looks like crap!

Huge can of worms!! What machine will you be using? If you need to build one I can send you a build list and then you can find a tech friend to help you assemble it and load it maybe??

After doing some research a few months back, I purchased Corel VideoStudio Pro X5 Ultimate. So far it has been great, never seems to crash and it runs pretty quick but I am overclocked to 4.2 ghz on an Intel i5 750 system w/ 8gb RAM with a huge heatsink and about 5 fans. I also have a solid state drive for the operating system and twin Nvida GTS 250's running in SLI. I built my system ~3 years ago and it is still running perfect.
