used pistons a bad idea?

Im trying to get my fx rebuilt for as cheaply as possible but i dont wanna waste my time and have it blow up... One of my pistons was damaged when my crank seized but the other is fine. Another member on here (sportfish) has a pair which also has one good piston. But he also has new pistons he is willing to sell me for $50. Im picking up a SBT crank and a new head from him today but im not sure which pistons i should go with.
Any tips?

I'm running used pistons I bought from idok. I'm running them in the used cylinder they came out of though. Used pistons can be OK if you have them checked by a machinist and make sure the bore is right for that piston. If it's checked out as OK get some new rings and hone the cylinder and you're set for cheap.

if you do it make sure and check the clearance on them because the 2 pistons might be different..

oh and been there done that, in a pinch it'll get you by but not recomended unless your a cheap azz like me:)

I would run used OEM pistons before I would NEW WSM pistons.

If the one piston is OEM and the correct size and in good condition go with it.
