UMI Pole: standard or -2"

SXR-FOREVER

I finally getting around to sending my broken UMI pole back into UMI and was wondering what size to get? I had the standard and I liked it alot but I know the -2 is alot better for rolls etc. Does the -2 effect handling at all? Or what one do you guys recommend.

Let me know, thanks

I've been riding skis with -2" poles for a few years now. Only takes a little while to get used to the change, and very difficult (IMO) to go back after you've made the switch. It gets your weight farther forward (obviously) and this helps control porpoising, in addition to the rolls. It's just better overall for most folks.

I am running a -2 X-metal on my SX-R and its great it is about 3-4 inches shorter than a stock kawi pole. The shorter pole didnt efect my handling it just changed my ridding position.

Maybe out on the St. Croix sometime with standupjetski.com. I'm just really curious on a shorter pole, I've been debating on it for my SJ.
