Turf Help

Ok so I attemped to start turfing my ski this morning. What it boils down to is cutting this stuff is not my thing. I alomost got one side in the tray done but it doesnt look to good.

SO

I was wondering if anyone in the area would mind helping me out on this one. I would be more that happy to drive to you with the ski and also will pay to have it done. I plan on doing all the rails too.

yea its pretty tricky but just be patient and heat it up alot. i felt the same as u but after i was done i realized its not that bad.

Several beers during the process helps dull the pain. Keep at it....oh yea, wait for the glue to be ready and use lots of heat on the bends.

Look in the tech section & do a search. There are SEVERAL threads on turfing. Like it's been said before, take your time & work the turf. Don't let it work you. Patience & a heat gun will be your friends.

You did a great job on ur turf. Looks awsome. I'm trying to do the same thing and it's not working for me. Onactually just got out of the garage an tried putting the stuff on again. I'm not having any luck

Were in Mi are u located. I will drive to u and pay I to help me. I just wanna get my damn boat in the water already. It's going in for last coat of clear Monday and all I have left is to install my motor which is simple and do the turf which is killing me

Don't over heat it. Just warm and workable is all ya need. Don't pull....just tug and work it with heat. Carefully and patiently.

And IMO it really helps to have a second set of hands...even if just to hold turf up in the air while you work with the section you are working with.

im in kalamazoo. what footholds do u have? ill help if u wanna drive here.

I'm not sure what footholds I have I bought the ski with then already installed. I'm like 1 hour from Kalamazoo. I will def come up if u wanna help me. Ur ski turned out great. How much would u want to do it?

How do you guys ago about finishing the edges? ive heard cut it at a 45* angle but mine looked rough and unfinished when i did that, id love to see some finished pics
