i wouldnt think a blaster would need tubbies. wouldnt that mess with the handling as far as taking sharp turns?

even with the tubbies i think itd still be just as wobbly as before you add them. :booty:

tom 21 is making some b1 specific tubbies for me. he is just so slammed they have been on the back burner. he is making me some other stuff that has priority that we know works. the tubbies will come and we will test them. then i can give a honest opinion of what they do for the boat. i have got an awesome handling b1 now so we will find out if it gets better/worse or ?

I've seen the progress recently. they're looking pretty good so far. They don't look that much like superjet tubbies though because it's a different and taller hull.

I love these huge tubbies on my B1. Better for surf riding wave carving than any blast I have ridden hands down. Not sure how it would handle with a long rideplate and a toploader on a track. It is pretty loose on flatwater. It will drag the bar in turns easily though if you know how to turn it.

:cheer:

Please post pics! You probably recall how much I like watching you ride!

I don't think it would help me any, because I'm not so sure they even make a difference on an FX1 for me (jury still out on that one). Maybe on a b1 they would make a big difference for someone three times my size??? I would think they might help a larger framed rider.

No way, anyone that rides the face of the wave will like them. You need to get it way up on edge to really see what they do. A regular blaster can't turn this sharp. Max out the quick steer by adding a hole outside the stock location on the top, then in one on the turn nozzle. Just make sure you aren't using the cable as a stering stop or you will break it. Make sure the normal steering stop hits just before the cable maxes out its travel. I egged out my turn nozzle so it has a little more range of motion as well. The added turning throw naturally makes the blaster roll right on its side in turns.

If you do these mods start riding it at slower speeds and get use to using the sponsons and edging off them. It isn't something you will utilize at WFO blasting around corners although I have learned to aly the hull over at high speed then stomp the pump in and drag the bar at speed. Keep in mind I run a two bar intake and a stock rideplate to keep it loose for surf riding and stabs.

Most Blasters I have ever been on I can barely stab. Mine I can do it effortlessly. I am looking foreward to bigger surf.

Hmmmm...It does make sense...sounds logical, and you are a top shredder, so…

It’s been so long that I can’t recall if Eddie’s (LBE) had tubbies, but I do know I love that ride best out of the various b1’s I’ve tried, so I just shot out an email to find out if that is partly why. You have me curious now. He just started riding again recently (a bit)...not sure if he's played on the b1 or not for it all. I just started riding again too, yet I haven't been on my b1 in forever it seems!

I hope you get some big surf, and that I am around when you do.

Pete, great pics man! always nice to see you ripping it up out there!! I would love to get a ride on that ski to see how they feel, you coming to wavedaze this year?
