tubbies mounting

when mounting the tubbies whats the general idea as to placement to the bottom of the ski?
i have a FX1 that is getting some tom21 tubbies on it and the are almost the entire length of the ski...sort of anyway..

so do they go up on the side somewhat of flush with the bottom of the hull or somewhat up on the side?
how far up?
and how close to the front most times?

Im a heavy rider around 250 so on a FX1 i dont have to much of an issue of the front not being up....so does that change my mounting position some?

Not familiar with the Tom21 tubbies.. Take some time to look at the 08' SJ hull, that might give you an idea where to position them..

Are the Tom21 tubbies the ones that wrap around the front of the ski?

tom's for the x2 were designed to be mounted with the top edge against the bond rail flush with the nose. shoot him a pm on the sj style they are most likely not much different

M/S i will PM T/21 if he does not see this thread....I have spoken to him few times about the install as far as mounting but didnt think of these qustions then and wanted some other opninons

yes I made them to line up with the bottom of the hull and follow up the front. if you feel you want them further back then by all means move them. your weight and ride stance will ultimately decide where you go. if you ride surf stance you may still want them forward. they are fairly wide and most of the chine is pretty well covering the side, I dont think an inch or two is gonna make that much difference really
