Tubbies II with Front exhaust

Wahoo asked me about Tubbies in conjunction with a front exhaust. I couldn't figure out how to send pics via PM, so it's getting its own thread.

I talked with Mark at BLowsion about installing tubbies with a front exhaust. He said to just cut the front of that tubbie to fit the exhaust. There are no handling disadvantages, as the exhaust piece itself is displacing water where the sponson would if there were no exhaust there.

BTW, I know it looks like crap. I used 5200 when I installed them. I didn't have epoxy at the time and was excited to try them.

Anyways....it's getting done right with epoxy this winter. And I'll paint them to match.

Oh, here's a picture about how I got interested in tubbies. I was surfriding (very 1st time) at the Blowsion Beach party this year. I came down the face of a wave, pretty close to shore.
Well, the nose dug in, the water was 12 inches deep (if that), and I went over the bars.:frown: :biggrin:

werd... Haven't quite decided yet ...I was particularly interested in the front exhaust issue...

Tim the bottom (paint) is kinda somewhat jacked and I don't really dig the matching paint down there anyhow... if I go ahead with the Tubbs...I'd prolly just repaint it black or white.

I really doubt that. All exhaust outlet thru-hull fittings I've seen angle towards the front on the inside of the hull.
To mount it in front of the tubbie, you'll have to mount it on the topdeck.

do u think if i replaced my blowsion ex port with an old 550/440 port it would have room to fit

them tubbies aint no problem. we did neals ski a few weeks back. looks really good

wahoo, look at my ski my front exhaust was already installed when i put on the tubbies 2's i just cut out tubbie 1/4 inch away from the exhaust and blended tubbie in tappering to hull.. my old blue ski in toms shop has exhaust mounted on the outside of tubbie and through the hull.. hell with good paint krylon...it:fest30:
