Trinity Matrix XF Hulls

Hi guys

I have a 09 SJ and i'm sick of breaking the hull everywhere.. I've heavely reinforced it with carbon but still manage to break it so figure its time to get a aftermarket hull and have my eye on the Trinity Matrix XF.

I'm from Australia and and thought i'd ask a few questions about them seeing I think there is only like one of them in Australia.

I've watched all the youtube vids and done my reserch but just want to really know how they handle the abuse of surf riding. I just dont want to spend the money then start seeing stress cracks after a few wrong landings.

Any help would be appreciated..

Cheers

There's one is Australia? Cool, I have an "ES" on order and I made my decision based on this thread, speaking directly to Bobby Howering of trinity Composites, and then spoke to Pancake Pete who gave the ski 2 thumbs up, and from Pete, that's quite a compliment. Pete's hard on skis and he said that the Matrix was built to last and could take the punishment.

I would start by reading the entire thread on the Matrix pro, (if you haven't already) then phone or email Bobby directly, he's very accessible and is pretty interesting to talk to, he should be able to direct you to people who actually have ridden the ski and can speak to it's quality. I guess next, try and talk to Pancake Pete, he's the only one I know of that has actually punished the hull enough to give that advice.

Hope this helps...

Oh, and hurry up if you plan on ordering one, the list is getting longer and the wait time will only get longer after the Daytona freeride in January where Bobby plans on having a Demo ski on the water for everyone to try out.

They are tuff, here is a Nasty lawn dart at the very end of this video. Zero hull damage, this is the EVO SXR based trinity hull.

That ski was the first hull built in 07 for Lustic. It's still going strong along with his 08 ski both are pro versions. They have a new home aboard Kimi Raikkonen's yacht, who races F1 for Ferrari. Both skis were built by Steve Webster at Kommander.

Thanks for your help mate,

I've read through that thread which was a lot of help.. I'll have to try and have a chat with pancake pete and see what he thinks as well..

I've spoken to Bobby who has been a great help and very informative. I'm just trying to make up my mind on what hull to get as there is a couple of locally made carbon hulls that are cheaper but are basically a SJ copy just made stronger and lighter which would be ok but the look of the Trinity is just awesome and from watching bobby on youtube run through all the design and technology that goes into the matrix you know they're a step up from the others.. Also being one of the 1st in Australia to have one would be sweet:biggrin:

I just want to be 100% that i'm making the right choice..

Appreciate the feed back. Keep it coming. Its all helping me on making up my mind hahaha
