SXR To be Girdled or not to be Girdled

I am running a completely stock SXR engine right now and I am about to put a Factory Pipe Wet pipe on it, along with dual cooling. So I have a few options for my cylinder head...

Tapped stock head for dual cooling
or
Non girdled a/m head (probably kommander)
or
Girdled am head (probably kommander)

I hear that the girdled is recommended because it keeps my engine safer I guess, but is it really necessary for all the $$$ and work I will have to do to get a girdled head on? I would really hate to blow 400-500 bucks on something that isn't totally necessary...

Thanks,

James Ross

If you want to save money shave the stock head to bump compression. Milled head-40bucks plus a new gasket from jetmaniac.

However,
Most will say go girdle bc the hassle to install outweighs the days not riding bc it broke. And no more head gaskets!!! It is so easy to pops the head off and inspect or change domes.

With the ADA girdled setup, in order to get your timing cover off, you'll need to PULL YOUR CYLINDERS!

ADA, it's like you hate me.

Holy Hell! They must of made that and when they put it on were like "Ohhh :):):):)... my calculations may have been a little off".

It does seem like the girdled is a safer bet. Does anyone know of any girdled a/m heads that will fit without having to professionally grind down the outside of my cylinder corners? Similar to that ADA setup, except built well?

The TBM heads dont have to have the cylinder ground
