Does he have the 1.5 needle valve in it? Is he running a jetworks valve on the stinger? Is the pop-off holding on the carb and not leaking down?
try a smaller main...a 145 sounds too big to me...

Hey Chuck I rode this ski about a month ago and it definitely didn't feel like a waterbox loading up so it's got to be a jetting issue. Like you said I bet he's running a little fat.

FWIW: On my old SN with similar setup (but I has a 46mm) I was running 120 pilot with a 150 main and it had amazing bottom and was VERY smooth (it felt electric smooth). 145 main isn't all that big really and if it runs as bad as you say it does, it must be a failure somewhere. I certainly would start at the reeds. If they look good, look at the viton tip on the needle for a crown.

Chris made a point! I was thinking he is using a 95 gram spring...if he's using a 65 gram spring...BINGO that's the problem, you can't run that low of pop-off spring with that much jetting (120/145) go back to a 95 gram spring or use the stock gold spring with a 125 or 127.5 pilot and a 150 main with higher pop-off of the gold spring to find out if you have carb issues or ignition troubles.

The jetting sounds about right if you have a 1.5 needle and seat?

When you say silver spring; are you talking about a shiny silver 65gr. spring or the dull silver 95gr. spring?

Its definatly not shiny silver. At first I thought it was black, than i sprayed it with some ether and decided on dirty silver, meaning it 95g?
Im going to stop by Riva tomorow and pick up all new jets, spring, and needle and seat. Ill pick up whichever jets/spring you guys recomend. I dont have a pop-off gauge so I havent been able to check that.
Reeds are perfect. I DO have a jetworks valve. Im realy hoping its a carb thing.

Saki, you are the man! Nothing better than coming back from the garage with help already on the X:hail:
SUPERTUNE, everyone, your help is much apreciated!:headbang:

I have a similar setup and going to tune in Daytona end of this month, but I was told 150 main, 120 low, 95 g spring, 2.3 N&S. Have you adjusted the high and low screws much?

I (allong with other qualified people) have tried to tune my ski. Just turning my high and low wouldnt fix the problem.

Im not heading to Riva until like 3pm tomorow, so theres still allot of time to discuss what the carb setup I should go with. As of right now im feelin the 95g with 150high 120 low....but what neadle and seat do I want?

Saki, where did you go to college again?:haha:

Anyways, yes, the filter in the carb was perfectly clean. I already cut the plug wires back and put on brand new boots and terminals.

I changed the timing back to stock to help diagnose the problem better. And it was done CORRECTLY! Haters!

Im going to hit Riva after school and pick up new jets etc. Still deciding on a final combo.

My other thaughts are a possible broken baffle in my waterbox. Ill check that out tonight but I dont think its the problem. My front exhuast is a TIGHT fit, very PITA to take in and out.

doubt it...my tdr is pretty much baffle-less.....my ski's ran great that way....

if the reeds are good, stator is good....gotta be that spring or n/s

did you make some changes to your boat and then it started running crappy? or its always been this way? the last 2-3 times ive seen you at sebby, brad has always been tinkering with yoru pipe/carb......so, has this been something thats been going on awhile now???

Now I feel like a dik. Ill treat ya to a megaburrito and some dos XX when your up for it:biggthumpup:

Scott, ill take your word on the tdr box. I realy dont feel like getting in to the front exhuast area. My ski has been running like crap since it got a new crank like forever ago:skull2:
