Time to complete de-foam, footholds, one-way

I just picked up a Superjet and would like to install footholds, but I have a crack in the back of the gunwhale - it's sealed up pretty well, but I'm afraid I still need to de-foam. I'd also like to install a one-way/scupper as well ...

Installing footholds and turf is enough of a chore - how much MORE time will it take to tackle all of this at once (including wait time for drying/curing). If I take a couple of days off work, will I be able to complete this between weekends or is this something I should put off until winter?

It shouldn't take much longer. Drilling the hole in the engine compartment is going to be the hardest part with the motor in place, unless you defoam the whole side of the ski and open the tray up enough to get a drill in there. As long as you don't get WDK revs the footholds should be pretty straightforward.

I'd just ride it the way it is. Do footholds and stuff in the winter. Once you tear into it, you'll want to do this and that while you have it apart, and you won't get to ride this summer.

i just got done with refoaming a 99 rn today.....heres a break down of how it went...last wed. cut the whole tray out and used a pressure washer to get all of the foam out...thursday we installed a trim tube and a scupper..as well as resealed everything up...friday we poured some foam under the tray, glassed the tray in place..no work on sat. sun. or monday...yesterday i glassed in the kicker holds, added a layer of carbon to the left side of the engine bay...today poured the rest of the foam, did some finishing up and reinforced the handlepole mount area

we never worked more than 4 hours in a single day so in total we have about 20 hours or so into it

Cool - well, I have some Surf Jet Louie's footholds, turf, underpad, epoxy, etc. already anyway - but I guess I'll chill out and wait until winter - I think Cannibal is right.

The timeline posted by TB is really helpful to me for planning - thx for that.

LBE - I used to run a 24-7 scupper and my install was a little leaky, but I LOVED how quickly I was back up and running after subs/stabs. I'm thinking of a one-way/scupper combo for this one - Why do you say "Don't waste your time with a scupper"?

Get a scupper if your going to be doing subs, nose stabs etc....

LBE rides California surf and a scupper would make it easier to sink a ski out there.
