Other Threaded bar ends.

Lisa's GP1200 has the caps on the ends that lets you thread the stock grips into place. I can't put aftermarket bars with a cross bar etc on it w/o removing the trim (99 QSTS), which I am not willing to do. So where can I get a set of bars that will work, or the inserts to do the job? Or do I have to take a set of bars somewhere to have them welded?

Also, can places shorten cables like the throttle and trim cables? I have a use for a damaged GP1200 trim cable (because of the end that fits into the bar) that would work perfect if I could shorten the cable short of the damage (it would need to be shortened even if I bought a new 1 for what I'm doing), or can I buy a custom cable somewhere.

I know, I know, it's a couch, try pwctoday, blah blah. It's a cable question, and I like this forum.

not sure if it was on a yamaha or a seadoo, but one of em has a nut that is not welded. pretty sure its seadoo, and there is a slot on the bars you insert the nut into so maybe go to the junkyard or have someone post a pic of it and buy the little nuts and make the slot. Bam! any bars are now threaded bars. you are welcome.

Thanks, there's a new ski shop on 49th st at like 120th ave. They have lots of used parts. Maybe they'll have some seadoo inserts.

Pretty sure the GP1200 bars are welded. I wasn't paying that close attention when I switched out the broken ones.

If you buy a seadoo grip kit it comes with the plastic inserts, lagbolts etc, has to be the old style grip kits though, I believe they change them in 98-99, the newer style is doable but you have to cut a funky slot into the end of the bars
