DaUpJetSkier,

I've seen your posts on asking for used parts and tryingto save money with things like this.

I realize that we all do not have unlimited budgets, but your approach (in my opinion/experience) is going to lead you to end up with a terrible ski of mismatched, unreliable, used parts that is going to make your experience a lot less than fun.

I would recommend putting your parts purchases on hold for a few months, ask your family for cash gifts for the holidays, and possibly pick up a side job to allow you to save money for the right parts.

I am not criticizing you, but rather speaking from my own experience from when I was in college and tried to build a Corvette with a penny budget. I ended up sacrificing everything I had for a poorly performing motor that had used parts breaking left and right.

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
It's worth $50, cmon.. Granted its no swirl or a Concord but it's still kicks ass if you cut it back.
Its the standard hub Skat and is the best of the old skool standard hub props for a freestyle application.
I ran one of those in my square for years with a cut back and a tweak by IMPROS and won a couple of IJSBA regional Championships with it. I still have it as a back up prop. I liked it and I tried all those old skool impellers(back in the day) lol.

NJFL, I think you get the wrong impression, im trying to buy smart but not cheap. My engine is going to be bullet proof, it just that i dont want to spend all my cash on a freestyle square, Id rather save for other things like travel and then invest in a very good freestyle boat that I could put this engine in. When I see an impeller on ebay that cheap with potential because ive heard of ppl running those and having good results I might as ask around to see if its worth it. Then as far as other parts like fuel line etc that i want cheap, well look at the market, there is a number of shops and ebay all with parts at different prices, yes if had an unlimited budget id go to one of those guys like LPW and say heres my credit card send what I need for this, but why not use the internet to shop around and find the best deal, thats my philosphy right now. Id rather ask a question on here than guess and test like many of you have done in the past in the early days of freestyle.

Again, I'm not knocking you and perhaps I wasn't aware of your full plan. Just remember, you have a few months to gather the parts (because of winter), so don't rush into buying anything. $50.00 for that prop, which is not ideal and requires labor costs to rework (unless you know how to rework it yourself) is good money put toward the right prop that will work with your motor and pump and can transfer into another hull as well. Good luck with the build. The motor will likely be nice.
