Thinking of buying a CRF 450R

I heard the valves on these needed to replaced often. Does anyone ride one of these that can give some insight on the motors and such?

Probably be looking at 03's through 05's, that whats in the price range.

my next bike will probably be a honda 450f... dont hesitate, they are awesome bikes.. the older '03's-04's had the "valve swallowing" issues, but anything 05+ is rock solid.

i have heard lotst of talk about constant valve adjustment to those bikes....dont know if it is MY specific

how bout one of these, then you can plate it and ride to work on days when you cant hit the track :naughty::woot:

09 are going to be injected.
My 07 is rock solid. I thrashed it quite hard and no issues. The bike took a lot of beating and still holding.

Idok i love that bike!!! It would be badass to plate and tear it up on the streets and off road as well. I always thought those would be the best for outrunning the po po's(not that i would). Just take off through the woods and you are gone. lol

Looks like i'll be saving for an 05+ then, at least now i know why all the deals are on the 02-04's.

Anyone around St. Louis ride?

05+ went to the single header design..easy to recognize

mine, as well as the rest of the crew around here are all plated...

I heard about that... My freaking 2 smoker can go longer on a top end than that...

john put MANY hours on his top end, which was used in fact...It is just ready for a piston now

I have read in a couple of different places that the KTM 450 motors are 20,000 mile top ends.. :AR15firing::Banane36::bananalama:

lol.. yup.. my yz250 said "5 hours" .. haahha

so, you bought it used with 5 hours on it? or you blew a top end at 5 hours????
