nice how hard it is to bolt in a 701 to the sn hull? I have heard it just bolts in no modifications right? How much to you think it would cost for a shop to do it?

it wasn't hard at all... it is pretty much a stright drop in. Just like if you were going to replace the stock 650 engine... The one thing that was a little bit of a snag was that the breather tube on the hood is in the same location as the front carb... I had to cut down the tube on the hood. I have yet to cover that hole, I have just trimmed it so the hood will fit. I am planning on laying a layer of glass on top of the hole, just haven't done it yet.

I wouldn't pay a shop to do it... if you have the right tools you can do it... Just be organized... label all your bolts in bags, and make sure you shim the engine correctly.

What tools are you talking about im pretty limited. Is it cheaper to find a rn or a sn and drop in a 701. Just wondering how much would be you're prediction from a shop?

its only about a 10 bolt 1hr job..no biggie...do it your self and you can learn something while you do it..

Got the whole deal finished... I haven't installed my intended backing plate, but I'll grab from my buddy soon, and slap it on the there.

So I don't know what all this business about having to shave down the bottom of the handle pole is for. Yeah it doesn't swing up as high as a round nose or stock square, but it is way more than enough room for me to work on it. The second picture is of the pole fully extended up.

Looks good. There's a small strip of rubber that acts like a bumper on the front of the RN bracket that will keep it from coming up far enough. Doesn't look like you have it on there. I didn't use it on mine either. You have to grind the pole if you use the SN bracket. The SN bracket makes the pole sit about an inch lower too.
