Ok so todaye be sxi4evr went to a motorcycle show and we got around to talkin to some reps from Kawasaki. So we started talking to him about jet
Skis and asking why they had a couch on display but no stand up? He then replies saying that couches outsell standups 25-1 blah blah blah. Then he goes on to say that next year Kawasaki is cutting the production of their stand up skis entirly and not putting any more effort into it
Could this be true??? If so wouldn't inflation cAuse this sport to coast even more than it does now due to the demand for aftermarket parts????

Idk just think the whole thing is kinda wierd

you already can't buy a standup new in NY or CA because you're not allowed to sell 2 stroke motors anymore. as per total discontinuation, i have no idea about that...maybe they're going to modify it or something. that would be a sad day in the standup world because yamaha would then price gouge

Better buy them why you can then! As for me... i'll wait til someone rich wants to try one, ride it 3 or 4 times and then realizes he doesn't like it, then sells it to me for 3500 bucks!

couldn't agree more....that what we do with boats. wait til some rich guy drops $200k on a boat, and then realizes its way out of his league and too stressful, and then sells it for $75k.

gotta love them rich people :haha:

Weird, my brother was calling Kawi dealers searching for an SXR and one of them told him to wait since they are working on something in the 900CC range in the near future.

there should be tons of four strokes, theres plenty of room in the old 550's to drop a 3 or 4 cylinder four cycle in. carve out under the pads and mold your own tank. is it possible? ? theres enought room!

Sounds like 1997 all over again. Yamaha just came out with a new revamped SJ and the stand up sales were down for Kaw. They took a year off, and didn't sell a stand-up in the U.S., which suddenly created public demand for a new model. Then they came out with their own revamped SXI in 98.
