Freestyle The Death of Standup Jetski/SuperJet?

Is it really the end for production of new standup jetskis? According to article below the EPA is banning 2-stroke engine equipped PWCs from sales in U.S.A?

I can understand banning 2-stroke from sit down crafts because they are large and weight really doesn't have an impact but on a standup weight is a real issue and there aren't enough standup skis out there to really impact waterways.

Any of you know the real deal and whether any companies have future standup skis in the works that will meet EPA requirements while remaining light enough to keep the fun factor of getting some air off waves?

Welcome to the X Joshp. This topic has been discussed in depth with the more seasoned users but Yes its true, the 2 stroke stand up will no longer be sold in the US. You can thank your extremist environmentalist and all the ignorant people who buy into the global warming crap for that. No immediate worries though as the law doesn't forbid us from grandfathering in our existing skis for as long as we can keep them running, which looks to me like it will be a very long time.
