Surfriding Thanks to Mike Murphy last sunday at O-side

Last Sunday Was a great day to ride in the surf.A few people broke and Mike Murphy seems to always be there to help the broken and out of gas.I towed in Rosner and ran out of gas and he hooked up to us and towed us in a train back to the ramp.The last thing he said was did Fuzzy make it in o.k.? and then headed back out to check on him.A great guy to have in your corner.Thanks Mike!

For those who don't know Mike Murphy is the designer of the Air Chair. He's a great guy wih a heart of gold. He's problaby in his late 50's early 60's and rides a couch here in Oceanside regularly. He also throws down some of the biggest stabs that would make most stand up riders look bad

I had the privilege to meet Mike last November in pismo. He had launched in Avila beach and rode into pismo. He was there just a few minutes and broke down. He had no way to his van and trailer so myself, Keith, and a few other guys loaded his boat on my trailer and I took him into Avila. Once we got him unloaded he hooked it up with a DVD about his life as a professional water skier and inventor of the air chair. The guy is a super cool guy that would give his shirt off of his back. Definality a great person to have around.

I am thinking that I met him at O-side! I was with LBE I am pretty sure. There was a really cool guy at the ramp! I remember he invented something...can't honestly recall what it was right now, but he was telling me about it. I chatted with him for a bit...he was older I recall. I remember he was about to make a trip out this way, and I had told him he could get in touch with me. That's about all I remember of the person, other than I really liked him!

I met Mike after JK’s Benefit! It was my first time in the surf at Oside…directly before I got back onto the plane!!! What a sweet surf day too I was told, and it was indeedie!! urr:

I didn’t see Mike in the water sadly…hopefully next time! If memory serves correctly, he showed at the ramp after we came back in to load the skis (I don’t think it was before).

Good memories…thanks!! Plus, I just got to remind LBE of when the upcoming benefit is set for, and we have a “possibly” now! :bow28:
