Can i do Subs, fountains, adnd the noise dive mentioned in the other thread with a 2004 SXR 800 Motified? i've been trying a sub ( 1 day only, i know it's too soon ) but just wanted some assurance that it is possible. and maybe some hints...also where do i get a helmet ? any locations in Canada? or US that delivers fast ?

Thanks

yup, you should be able to do all those tricks on an SXR. I ride with several guys that have SXRs and they can do subs, stabs, fountains, etc. practice practice practice.

do a search for "helmet" on here... ton's of places to get them cheap and fast. Try Walmart for a Bell Bellistic...

the SXR is soo easy to do subs on.. its really nose heavy and, well, just heavy but i still love it[/QUOTEgive me atip, what exacly do i do to get it to ( PLANE ) i think that means going flat and steady, am i right. then do two jumps and bring my leg up and squad down ....i'm trying but seems like something is still wrong, i hit the water flat not even close.

You need to push forward on the pole for the nose to go down :fing02: And yes plane is going to where the ski is 'out of the water' only the back of the ski is in. Not bogging.

What! What!
Yep, after you hop the ski out of the water, lean forward and push hard on the bars. When the nose enters the water, hit the throttle and the pump will pull you down.

Ride on!

when you hop up to do the sub, use your feet to pick up the rear of the ski a bit as you push on the pole. If you have foot holds you can use them, if not, just wedge your feet against the sides of the tray.

Picking up the rear while pushing on the pole will help to give you a steeper angle entering the water and make for a deeper sub.

* if you go too fast and do all of the above sometime you will suicide sub... never seen it on an SXR, but I've done it several times on my superjet... and been pitched over the bars a few times.

You are probably going too slow also. That was it for me, you have to be on plane to sub. I also use the throttle to bunny hop. Get on plane, let off the throttle, then immediately get back on the throttle, pull up with your heels, and push down with the handle bars. Good luck!

you'll get it bro... hardest part is trying to learn stuff when ur the only guy riding a standup... keep asking questions on the X - lots of long time riders here that will gladly help you out with tips.

Good call. Speed is your friend. Brings the nose lower...

yeah im just learning how do do turnsubs cant just jump up and sub it. I put right foot it top right corner stick left in water and turn while goinjg slow and get as aerodynamic as possible so it dont blow you off. My dad said i went all the way under a few times im really excited. btw i ride goofy (right forward left back)

I have only been riding my SXR for about 3 weeks now, and I have been able to sub it (not consistently, mind you), turn sub it, and almost pull off a nose stab. I haven't tried the fountain yet, I hear I need a bilge before trying that stunt- a lot of water comes in.
Like someone else said on here- SPEED IS YOUR FRIEND when it comes to the sub. I got really frustrated when I was learning, since all I was doing on my last jump was landing and skimming- barely getting the nose buried under water...and couldn't pull off the sub. But if you have enough speed, I found it is a piece of cake. I use this rule of thumb: if you feel you are going too fast to pull off a sub, then you probably are going the right speed.
Hop, pull the feet up in back, push down on the bars and look at the water and nose of the ski, and once you feel it go under, hit the throttle. You should be able to pull it off.
