Well, last month I picked up Ant's 04 sxr to build into a surf boat.
I stripped the boat down a couple weeks ago and was waiting on some parts.
Since the weather this weekend sucked I decided to build the motor.
Real simple limited. Heres some before & during shots. Left the carbs off becuase I not sure which ones I'm going to use.

Well, I've had some progress on my surf boat. The hull is almost ready for paint. Everything has been mocked up but the steering cable. The parts I choose are all very strong.
Here's the list of what's been done
Blowsion rail caps have been glassed in- thanks Joe P
Trinity "all in one" carbon nose peice
AC superjet pole-

The motor I built for this boat is still sitting in my race boat.from Daytona. I am very happy with how hard it pulled. Plan to pull it in the next week or 2 to get ready to drop in after paint.

Hell yea! Now all you need is the Trinity Hood

Doing anything else to put it on a Diet?

No, not really. I did cut all the excess glue off but that's more about the wet pipe fitting correct rather than saving weight. I'm really not concerned with weight, I just want strong parts that will not break.

It doesn't need to be light in the surf.

Why do people always think that :banghead:

To each his own.

Kevin Collins had nothing but great thing to say about how much better the SXR handles just with the Trinity hood.

Let me try to explain..... in the surf when say throwing a roll on a heavy boat, the boat will just want to keep carring its rotation, wich can cause overroted roles, that you cant slow down..... the roll will start out slower, but then before you know it your just spinning out of control..... I noticed this alot when I rode Nicks "yamasluts" boat.... not that my roles are perfect everytime, but I have much more control over my much lighter boat........ sure a heavy boat will role, just not as well...... truth

Stabs same fuggin thing.... when launching off the top of a wave HARD, and throwing the boat into rotation, and shotting and pointing your landing, you can tell the boat what to do alot more in the air on a lighter boat as oppse to a heavier boat.

So DJ..... you ever roll your boat over any sweet jumps?:skull2: :skull2: :skull2:

I dont mind people thinking Im stupid, unfortunetly I probably know alot more then them....... that is why I make these silly posts, so that people who want to learn, and make there boat a better performer can do so.

Why do the Top 4 put so much time and $ into there MX bikes...... are you gona tell me thats different, because your in the Dirt :bs2:

Get with the program.

Taking weight from inside the boat will also be less stress on the hull...... when it all comes crashing down...... why dont you open up your eyes..... open up your eyes!!!!!!

Sorry lyrics from my boyz Metal Band

Bronson- you take the whole weight thing way too serious. Yes, it may help but it's not the only thing that matters. Maybe if your Malone but for the average freerider no.
I've owned a full carbon 3DR hood since 03. I know how it makes the boat ride. It helps running bouys some but it's not night and day. I really don't think it's worth it on my surf boat.
I bought the Trinity nose becuase Bobby is a good guy who know his stuff.
I really liked how it's all one peice. It's also strong as hell. Bobby pretty much bent it in half and it didn't break. He ever said you break it I'll give you another. He's got skills.
Saki- thanks dude. Hull going to black with green nose & pole
