I have a limited set up 05 SXR and have been runnin Taucettis. 1st the tops came un-glued and fell into engine compartment-epoxied them back on and now they are cracking like everyone elses Taucettis on SXRs. Soooo-what have u guys found that lasts a little better?????????
ps-they are aluminum green tops-do the carbon fiber tops last better???

Like wise and Im glad you post the brand since I forgot! With water entering. I have two air tubes in the rear leading down below the carbs also both rear sides of the hood at the factory liner are open for air w/ the front of the hood all sealed. If you do a fast sub. less than a quart comes out the bilge pumps. And with the frt sealed up you can fountain and stay dry, as long as you keep the rear of the hood out otf the water.!

I have Ocean Pro Old School Vortex Arrestors. They will never break, but often come loose, even with lock-tite. I have heard of Proks falling apart too, so I am probably going back to the stocker even though I will lose some Bling Factor.

Mine are rigged up wayyyy different. They are really old and not made for a SXR...
I am having filters made for them from outerwear. Just give em the dimensions. The ocean pros actually keep a lot more water out than the proks. There are way more screens in there, just better flame arrestors than the proks or taus. Too bad they don't make em anymore.

One more... I actually have spacers in mine to stop the arrestors from getting crushed. I didn't have the original bolts that stopped in time and I kinda smooshed them... then I made the spacers.

Well If I end up keeping the SXR I was planning on having a set of pre filters made for them. I know I know, I'm leaving the green, but there will always be special place for Green in my heart.

I got my FA's from John Zigler for $60. The coating they had on them started to flake off after the first ride. I had them power coated while my dad was having some other stuff coated, but it is started to get bubbles in the coating.

Here are the pics taken on the day I installed them

Definately the best aftermarket flame arrestors still...
Riverrat and Madmat have both trashed Proks.

I just polished the hell out of mine!
