SXR newb modifications

Here are the picts, from the 2 part foam and filling the 5/16" holes with epoxy. I did not end up using the funnel, as the syringe worked great. I just pulled out the plunger, poured in the foam, and reinserted the plunger. It worked great. Thanks the the info Frosty!! Hopefully we'll get it painted this week!!:arms:

Looks like you're doing a great job. :woot: I see that you may be waiting on adding an aftermarket pole due to the cost. What you may want to do in the meantime is throw on a set of 0 degree UMIs, run you about 45 bucks or so, and you'll love the difference over the stockers. And as far as the duckbills go, even if they're new, all it takes is a pebble, a nut, a piece of a ziptie, or other scupper-bait, and blub blub blub. So yeah, definitely leave an automatic bilge going if you're gonna park it in the water for any amount of time.

That's is great advice and the handle bars, and I guess I never thought about the stuff in the duck bill! :bigeyes: That definitely would do it. I am going to leave my bilge on from now on if it's sitting in the water. Thanks. I am still debating on the pole. No matter what you do it's expensive! I think I have it down to two. The X-metal, that everyone here seems to prefer, and the UMI which Blowsion is recomending. There really isn't much diff in price between the two, X-Metal is $500, UMI $525. And I was thinking about changing my pole base mount for dual breathing, but Scott at Blowsion said not to bother. "I really will not need the extra air, and the SXR pole base brkt has never broke that he knew of, so why spend the money."

Never leave a standup tied up floating in the water............ Not a good idea.

I don't have any good pics handy but we just put on a Dale's pole last weekend. It was a piece of cake and only $650 or so w/stock bars, steering, and mount.

You are so the f'n man bro. :hail: I am stoked!! Gonna to turf up, install my pro-tec CDI and my newly -3" shorted re-powder coated pole and time to ride!!!

Can't wait to see how Jim's paint job looks on your rail caps... should be nice.

Here she is fresh from paint! I could not wait to get started so I sanded it and put in the 1/4" turf under padding. Hoping to get the turf done this week! The lake hit 44 degrees today, so I'm hoping to ride soon! Frosty I could use an extra set of skilled hands puttin' the turf down. You got any time?

I can't wait to get it done! I've got some brushes, a quart of DAP weldwood cement, a heat gun, a weighted roller, acetone for clean up, & some toluene activator for the cement. Plus the guys here gave me a few tips on working with rubber. On tough areas they put the glue on, let it totally dry, check the fit, then use the activator to wet both sides of the glue. That way you can do a little section at a time if you want. I'm really hoping that it turns out to look good!

Well, after some swearing and freaking out, with my first "real" turf job, it's finally shaping up. I just need to super glue the seams and edges, and put down the easy stuff. :woot:
