yeah, the 2 part foam will absorb water where the polystyrene will not. why add 2 part in there. I substituted poly for 2 part in my superjet and dropped a good 15lbs just in foam.

Kawi hulls are thick as f@#k... you don't need that 2 part BS in there.

Heres some pics,

I went for a ride today & i was amazed how much better the ski is now, weight reduction worth the hard work. Plus it seemed to eat less gas, rode 1.5 hours on 1 tank.

As for the scale, you have to subtract 12 pounds for the straps & it ends up 380.
scale is in 5 pounds per line

Its off the stand about 2 inches i didnt want to go any highter cause breaking a strap would suck. Watching your ski slam the ground would sux.

I have been wanting to weigh my ski for quite some time now, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. Frosty loaned me his new scale, so I could check it against his SJ for some realistic numbers. First I drilled into the rafters and installed a 3/8" eye hook. Then zeroed out the scale with the straps I was going to use. Next I hooked them to my ski and added a side strap stabillizer to keep it from spinning over, because one side is heavier than the other. This is dry weight without fuel and a battery. Well mostly dry, water was coming out when I lifted it up. The battery weighs 14lbs 2 oz, ski weighed in at 380 lbs.
Total weight approx 395 lbs
The hull is completely stock and the glue is uncut with very light reinforcing under the handle pole area. It weighs approx 360 without the hood.

What year is that boat. Looks great with those rail caps green...

Mine was 409 pounds at Daytona in 2008. I should drop about 80 pounds when all is said and done after the Trinity hull, removing elec box bracket, etc etc. Should be around 320 or so....
