SXR Bottom End Prop

Location
Idaho
Currently running ADA head with 28cc domes (175psi), lightened flywheel, light bottom end porting, 80mm nozzell, TBM pump stuffer with stubby cone, wetpipe with timing jumper, and a 13/22 -5mm Solas Dynafly. The ski hits pretty dam hard on the bottom and pulls all the way though to the top. Was wondering if I will see anymore bottom going to a more freestyle pitched prop from the "limited Prop" that I have. For those brave enough to run freeride/freestyle on the SXR, what prop are you running?

my 13/22 killed my stock prop. I still have it for a backup. I am curious to see how Shonuf's dynafly is going to feel on your boat. It is 13/17 correct?

You need to find 1 out of a old sitdown. I think a 750zxi
You'll notice a diffence with the 82mm. It will also drop your rpms 75-100 up top

Yeah, me too! Gotta get in the water this weekend with the stocker and then rip it out and try the dynafly....My boat is ALOT lighter than a normal SXR...so I don't know what it'll do!

I've got basicly the same setup you have, when I talked to Impros, they suggested the 9/17 Skat with 5mm setback. So thats what im running now, and it hits pretty freakin hard. Im pleased with mine anyway

Still Fat....
I think Dave cut the prop on her ski to a 13-20 if i'm not mistaken
i know its a Dyna fly prop with TBM pump cone and SKAT/Blowsion trim system 82/85 setup (wish i had gone larger)
its ok, the ski is still a tank, but gets my fat a$$ up easily, of course i am comparing this to my SJ which was built for bottom end grunt
i am also running some compression too on her SXr, but thats about it, stock exhaust still

Did Dave ever come out with the hooker prop for the SXR's?

You sure about that? I heard Solas made the hooker for impros.

Well, when I talked to him about the Hookers, I had not planned to buy one. He said he has them made for him to his spec's. Believe they are made relatively close to him. Solas production is overseas.

Even if he had them do the investment casting and all, they are made to his spec's. Once they are cast, he then takes them to a Polisher to get the final finish. He has changed polishers once or twice if I am not mistaken. Sometimes they go out with a different finish as the batch before (dont quote me), I recall someone asking and he replied that the finish was a bit different.

"I called impros to see what was up. I actually bought it new from them but didnt want to accuse them of anything. He told me that the blade length on the 11/17 is longer that the 9/15, that is why the cutting edge looks different. He also said that they are not polishing them b/c the company that does work for them is kind of flaky to deal with. It also does not say impros on it b/c of the extra cost of having that put onto the impeller.

Looks dead up like a c75 to me though. Kind of bummed b/c I paid so much for it and it was not what I was expecting. Nonetheless, he assures me this impeller has Impros "race" finish which, although not a high luster finish, uses a much finer grit to and is smoother than a normal finish
. "

Pulled the above from another thread.

Back on subject. IMPROS can take your OEM prop and turn it back to a 12/17 or 13/17 (I cannot remember if he did my stock prop to a 12 or 13) but it worked really well. Gil ran it for a while in his SXR and liked it. The 13/20 Dynafly works really well. Best thing to do is call Dave at IMPROS.
