What is the stock compression on a SX-r 800 motor supposed to be?

They are all over the place, also depends on your elevation...I've heard anywhere from 155-180. Mine was about 162 if i remember correctly

4 sxr's i got were between 165 and 175. my 08 is 175.

just threw a tester on my friends stocker and it is at 159...I am at about 1200 feet....keep in mind when i went to Florida (sea level) i with from 181 to nearly 200psi on the same gauge

Plus if you're going from snap on gauge to a pep boys special there will be a difference.

Yup, depending on the cylinder you get anywhere from 150-180psi on compression. I was at a shop a few years ago and they tested 3 new SXRs. One was 175 and 165, and 150. The shops that race would go through all the new SXR and take the ones with the highest compression to race. Mine, unfortunately was at 155 new
