SX-R 800 Bilge Pump Help

I have a fairly new SX-R 800. And am looking to get a new bilge pump for it. Wondering what type of bilge pump it has it is 100% stock. Wonderding what is the best to get? Do you need to cut into the ski to add it?
THANKS FOR THE HELP

I have a Rule 500..I use the handlebar mounted switch you can get from Blowsion. You have to cut a hole in the side of the ski for the fitting. The Rule works great. I have only had to replace it once because it burned out when I left it on once.

Get a RULEMATE 750....do a search for it...you'll also need a bilge outlet.

Just bungee it down where your tool kit goes and run it out the side of the ski. You'll never need another bilge.

The stocker isn't a pump...it just works on gravity and is very slow....the Rule 500's are known to jam and burn out....so are the switches. The rulemate is automatic and will last for years. (plus it pumps way faster!)

Good info on the Rule. I bought the warranty from the place where I bought my new one, so if it goes out again I get a replacement. It's been running good for almost a year.
An aftermarket bilge and a Versiplug (google it, available thru the Jetski Doctor) is all you need. Like korn said, the stock bilge is pretty much useless. I'm going to go to the automatic one of these days too.

I run dual Rule 500GPH pumps in my SXR. When I am on the water, they are always on. I have never had one burn out but they are always airlocking.

Korn - you have any issues with the 750 air locking?

Never. It always works perfect...the Rulemates are a step up from the Rules.

The Rulemate is the Automatic one that you want....it has a ping pong ball switch (on when you need it off when you dont)
The Auto Rule comes on every couple minutes and might not be on when you need it.

Do you have any idea what the stock bilge pump is? If there is even one.
Is paying extra for an automatic bilge pump worth it or just use the switch.

your factory ski comes with a siphon style bilge pump, if you want to call it a pump. It sucks when the ski is running. I am running a single 500 GPH rule with a blowsion 3 position switch. Auto - off - on. works well for me.

Yeah... i went to West Marine to price one out and was shocked. $49 is a steal. Probly should be no surprise, since West Marine is higher than giraffe tang anyways.

We need a walmart for just boating goods. The half assed selection they have in the outdoor/automotive section doesn't cut it most of the time. The internet is great... but it's nice to just go to the store and buy something instead of waiting on snail mail to bring it to your door.

The stock bilge works from vacumm created by the impeller pump.

Alright so a RULEMATE 750 is the way to go?
What exactly does it come with just the pump or other items also?
If just the pump what other items do I need to get?
How/What do I cut into the ski with?
How do I obtain the fitting that discharges the water out?
THANKS DJ

Any boat shop will have a bilge fitting or go to Blowsion.com and get a pimp one.
Just get a flat drill bit to fire the hole in your ski...takes 15 seconds.
Then, just a piece of hose.
Bungee it down where your tool kit was, hook it to your battery and your ready to go and your ski is now much safer from sinking or water injestion.

Another good free mod to keep water out..... block off your front round air intake on your hood (you can use duct tape or a piece of plastic), cut a second matching intake in the back, and you have now stopped 3/4 of the water that comes into your ski. (search sxr hood mods on here! for pics)))

I've been riding an SXR for 7 years and these are great cheap mods!

I have a rule 800 in mine but it grew a tumor after Daytona this year. I guess they don't like salt....
U can epoxy the pump mount bracket to the bottom of your hull but other than that DJ has it covered
