this is the pole fully finshed , and after a full weeks riding, it performed great with the only down side being that the ski does not re-right it self if it turns completely upside down, this apart it was well worth the effort making it and makes the ski far better to ride , now my stance is better,

I noticed the same thing when I went to an aluminum pole from a stock pole on my RN SJ.

Humm first time i feel off in the surf , i popped back up to the surface expecting the ski to be floating up right, only to find it still up turned, i now find out this is a common thing with alloy poles,

As much as i would love to make more , i had to really tailor make this to fit the ski, and as im in the uk and i have not got a spare SJ or FX1 to make the templetes ,
I had to take my pole off , take it apart and test fit the parts as i went along, so its not so easy with out a ski to work on

the funny thing is after making this one, i realised that i could get the parts cut on the laser at a cost not a favour, put it all together get it powder coated and finished for $350 and still make a very good profit, all you would need is your bottom bracket and top plate,
So it really does go to show how much money the big companies make out of this sort of thing,:eek:mfg:

Ditto that.:haha:

Nicest 650, with or without the pole.

That thing about not uprighting the ski is a little wierd though. Maybe the tubes need to be stuffed w/flotation.

Ive got used to it now i know its not always going to re-right it self, but look at the old pole and chin pad, its like a small boat on top :jester: no wonder it float up then ,
