Freestyle Surfers and canoes

We have mixture of watersports where I ride. Surfers.. kite surfers an th canoes. Never had any issues with the surfers or kite surfers but I am having issues with the canoes. Inevitably I find one waving me down and spinning the usual bull that I am not allowed to ride in the area and then he points to a wide expanse of water way beyound the breakers where inam supposed to ride. I am getting rather pissed about the situation and although reverting to violence is not my usual train of thought I have inevitably thought about squeezing that pimple of a face till all the oozes out of his miserable life.... surfers are cool they stick to where they catch waves as well as the kite surfers... anyone's had the same expierence and how did you handle it.

I find that responding with unreasonable violence, angry outbursts, and cursing usually get my point of view across very nicely. My opponents are left to wonder why they ever doubted my position to begin with and are sure to defend my right to ride there to all of their friends.

MLK went with peaceful protest. They had non-violent displays of force and the authorities blasted them with fire hoses. The protestors appeared peaceful and reasonable and the authorities were perceived as violent and oppressive.

The only thing doing a fountain will do is get you an assault charge and put all skis on the list. We will all be labeled as dangerous and aggressive a will only further the expansion of the no-combustion zones.

Do the right thing. Stop talking to them when they wave you down and just generally avoid them. People will be duschers and with the Eco-green movement going on right now, as well as the assault on the "rich", we will lose. We are targets. Suck it up or lose the fight.

This issue has been a beyotch at our spot. I have had the cops come a bunch of times and everytime i send them.packing cause i know my rights. They are now forcing all the kayakers to launch at a specific kayak only launch. It blows me away how rude these eco nuts are then act like your the one being rude. They hog the launch and the river and throw fits over 4inch tall jetski wakes. Ive educated most of the cops in my town about the waterways and laws. They always believe some crazy kayaker and try and write me tickets. Never got one yet.

Pretty sure he is talking about outrigger canoes like you see in Hawaii.

But yeah you should be able to just ride circles around them and not even worry about it.

I have to agree with Vumad when this problem comes up.We have it with fisherman here.They think they own the lake.

Just smile back at them.Kind of makes them mad,cause you are not fighting back.I just don't think getting into a pissing contest does a thing except make it worse as others have said.

Unfortunately I am going to have to take another approach. Yesterday while being out a canoeists approached her and got in to a heated debate with her, when she told him to piss of he assaulted her. She ran towards the surf to get my attention and the bastard got in his vehicle and left. Now its war.... on my way to the canoe coub on the beachfront to make every asshole understNd that they started this.

Same thing between Whitwater Kayakers and people fishing......they think they own ever river there is.....I just wave when i pass them

How about a few bags of bread crumbs? Feed a few birds, put the remaining crumbs all around the launch vehicle. Do this a few times and the dushes might not want to launch there if they tire of the constant bird coatings.

Make sure you're not parked to close to the bird target of course.

Or pay them no mind. Wave and smile and if you have to, tell them to have a wonderful day.

I have the same issue with surfers on the way out to our spot. We launch from the harbor and have to ride about a mile down the beach to where the cops cant see us to ride surf. The surfers always yell and scream and flip us off even though we are well outside the surf until we get to the spot.

The key is just to smile and wave smile and wave, it pisses them off but you are being the bigger person that way.
