werd up Joe, Ross... Those are valid considerations...
I will continue to roll and flip w/ holds for now, but I want to roll in surf stance in the future just to mix it up

When I do rolld surf stance, I feel the landings are much easier on my knees. When both feet are in the footholds, and you land a roll, your momentum is moving sideways to your knee, if that makes sense. I feel like surf stance, I can land hard and absorb the impact with my legs.

Ross have you used my front hold on my ski? You should tyr it out if you haven't.

I agree with Eddie about the landings, I roll surfstance and think it makes a huge difference. I can't roll as fast though, so I need about a 3 foot wave to make it around, but the surf stance rolls really shine on the big waves. I have much better control of my rotation, and found that the stance somehow allows to me to do much bigger barrel rolls. I've actually completely stopped my rotation in the air and then fell out of the sky. Also on super flat landings I can let go with one hand and have my back fall next to the ski in the water to avoid the shock on my legs.

Mine still lack real surf style, Vince Colf has the sickest rolls I've ever seen. But both Kenney and Vince and LBE roll forward. I actually roll backwards (I'm regular footed and i roll to the left). I'm working on getting my rolls to look more like a Tantrum on a wakeboard. Here's a little one and a kinda bigger one from a while ago.

what about you bro?? what stance when you F'ed up your heel???

i must have forgot... i broke my heel riding in both footholds. But remember, it was a flat landing from a backflip that my friends said was almost 25ft high.
i think that will break something no matter what stance you ride. Maybe height had a lot to do with Taylors break, but im just restating what he said to me.

thanks for all the helpful posts... I'm getting closer to figuring out the best setup for me...

loving the front foothold idea....

btw - I'm diggin that setup Enzo.... Can you explain exactly how ya did it???

The picture is from a hull I orderd from XFT. Should be here in a week. I told Sergio basically what I wanted and he modified one of his carbon dash covers to give me a 4" shelf across the front of the tray.

I thought that was the only way . Hmmm... I roll to the left and set up the strap for regular foot so I might just have to give it a shot. Man I cannot WAIT for my parts to come in! :Banane01:

Mark.Ive never seen you ride full surf stance, both toes facing toward the rails? You been doing that recently.Ive been practicing here on small surf here, much better top turns, but difficult for me to controll when jumping, almost got the roll down:27:
