just blew up my 701 61x with 46mm carb at Daytona trying to figure out what I should go with next I was thinking a stock bore ported 701 let me know what u guys think my best route is

83mm would be better with a port job. 61X ported motors really wake up at this bore size.

More reliable than punched out to a 760. The bore to that size leaves you paper thin.

find a cheap 650. buy it. steal the crank. find a 61x cylinder on stock bore with stock pistons. people swap em out all the time for the bs 760 cylinders. buy a 30 dollar gasket kit. put it all together. have a basically new engine for under 400 bucks.
thats what I did 2 years ago to my surf skix and it hasnt missed a beat while countless other people I know have torn down every season.
kiss method is the best in surf. you don't need all the gizmos and gadgets this site tells yoi. Half these dudes spend more time on here than in a tray. Take all advice with a grain of salt
