Well I guess that means the reeds are good...
Take a couple of pic's of the engine setup and let me look...How do you have the cooling lines run? Is this a stock SN waterbox or a RN aluminum box?
What impeller do you have?
Is this setup with a MSD Enhancer?
I have to think that the Pop off is too low...back to 1.5 and the stock 115 gram spring and a 80 low and the stock 130 high.

I got the motor out and the exhaust mani off right now but I did not remove the cylinders yet. I looked the pipe over and didnt have any leaks that I had found. I has a RN aluminum waterbox and the outlet of the waterbox comes out and up to a front outlet on the left side. It has a 10-18 prop on it. For the CDI it is a protec one.
I will try it again with the carb setup that way but I had it setup like that in the first place with the pop off at 55 psi and 70 low and 135 high so I will try to run the setup that your saying.

You had mentioned reeds. Is it possable that I need to run a reed spacer? If you shave 10 mil off the bottom of the sleeves would that creat some kind of turbulance that would make the reed stay open or somthing werid like that?

While you have the headpipe off, look into the water injection hole under the outlet fitting and see how big it is, in the old days when we raced them in limited class I would tap them for a main jet to restrict the water for more hp and cleaner running. We didn't have Jetworks valves back then...

It is about the size of a pen piont.

i had a similar problem once and it turned out that the dynamic compression was higher than the static compression , it was a protec race ported engine...it was really weird because when you got up to speed and starting jumping out the water it really started going...in other words the compression was too low and the porting was ...well who knows...why do you have a 10/18 pitch impeller ??

nine does this everytime i blow an exhaust coupler, i really think it is something with your exhaust clogging with water. It will do it once in a while if i sink the back end real low without it running. Try leaving it on the trailer strapped down with the front of the ski out the water and the back in the water and see if it will still rev, that will at least tune you into an issue with load or an issue with your exhaust taking on water and clogging....just my cents...
