FX-1 Superjet vs fx1

How does a fx-1 compare to a sj on power and weight?

There are countless threads about this subject but here is a basic overview

FX1 is 25lbs. or so lighter, more squarely, stock comes with a 61x 701, small pump that creates a lot of cavitation and all the FX1 enthusiasts have bigger pumps or have considered them.

Superjet is 25lbs. or so heavier, more stable and controllable, 61x 701 or 62t 701, 144mm pump, the very pump that a lot of FX1 guys put in there boats.

Everyone will tell you personal preference. My personal preference, get a superjet. I own 2 FX1's, 1 with stock pump, the other with a superjet pump, so hopefully that means something.

Fx1 vs SJ

Dont be hating on the fx1s I own one of each and have alot of love for them both. If you can ride an Fx1 well, you will rip a SJ!!!:bananalama:

Fx1s are awesome flatwater/river/creek skis. Lightweight and narrow they are a handful for some. Most bigger guys will hate em. If you like 550s you will love fx1s.
Superjets are easier to ride and less of a workout. For surf you better get some tubbys and a bigger pump. The fun factor imo goes to the fx1 if you can ride the thing. 2 downsides to the fx1 is narrow tray and small pump.

Right on!........If you're used to riding a SJ, an FX-1 will feel squirley and unstable at first.........very much like the first ride on your bicycle when your Dad took the training wheels off......but you get used to and you would never go back! :jester:

Haha, thats what ive been doing this winter. Maybe I'll have the paint down in another month?? Grinders are great.
