MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA my buddy has finally unerstood that his 2004 SJ he bought brand new 2 yers back is ready for some freestyle sexiness. Im stealing its virginity and making it into a freestyle ski with him, to teach him stuff.

He plans on getting cyclone footholds, solas concord 13/17 ( 5mm cutback?), Factory Limited B pipe brand new, probably a wet wolf cone, and hes doing a primer kit with flame arrestors. He'll probably get a pole and hood and nosepiece next year, but theres always a chance he will this year.

Its starting small with some footholds and a power goodies, and then we'll go from there. MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHA im excited

i believe typically impros recommends a 3mm cutback, if doing a 5mm, you might want to send your pump in to make sure theres proper clearance.

ahhh yes, 3mm is correct. I remember now.

ive talked to my buddy and so far, for this summer, we are going cyclone footholds, prop, pump cone, and xmw pole. Hes on a ltd budget. possibly a pipe in the summer, definatley winter though. it should be fun

pole and pump cone before pipe? if he's got a pole that works, why not wait and get the pipe now. much more for preformance. you can always cut a stocker down.

little stuff like the pump cone is easy to get and will help a little, but save for the big items; holds, pipe, & prop that will really step it up. then you can add on as you like. save bling for later too. just a suggestion to get ya more power sooner.

Oh I know, but he only has so much money, and he reallllyyyyy ikes the xmw pole, but he wants to wait on his pipe for a bit. he might change his mind. either way, we have another freestyler! wooo

he does not have to change poles to freestyle........... he can even get an XMetal bracket and run it with a single bolt with the internal spacers.......... buy the pole later......... also, has he though about 24/7 footholds? much stronger and easier to turf..........

yeah ive shown him all options. someone wants to buy his stock pole from him for alot of money also, so he wont pay all that much for xmw

Thats cool if he can do that.
Just a thought for everyone else, Mike Serlin, Joe "siki" and I all run stock poles with fiberglass wraped on the top and bottom. These skis, and poles, have truely been surf tested without fail. All you guys thinking about aftermarket poles, might want to consider the cheap and strong alternative.
Let me emphasize that these skis have been abused, and the pole is not the weak link.

That's a killer idea... I just cut 2" from my stock round nose pole and put it on my square nose project ski for now, thinking I would pick up an aluminum pole later... I think I will take your advice with the fiberglass wrap and not waste more cash on the square project. Solid bro... thanks.

As for Ice's friend... dude... tell him to get the pipe first!
