FX-1 Superjet tank in FX1

here's mine

my battery box is off by 1/2" or so, so I'll have to think up some sort of bracket for it - hopefully the b pipe will free up some room for it

Thanks, man.

Couple questions:
1) Is everyone just running ONE tank strap?
2) If you use the stock battery tray with a 16CLB battery, do you have to cut off that catch that the tank strap goes to?

I spent an hour, by myself, trying to get the tank in.
Do I put it in WITH the b pipe installed or with the b pipe out?
I'm really struggling.
I have a friend that I think will help me tomorrow.
What do you use to cut the lip? Do you cut grind it right up to the seal?
This sucks. I want it done. This sucks. I'm friggin' frustrated. I work on this build 100% more than I've ever ridden the thing the whole time I've owned it.
Anybody got more pics?

you MUST put the B pipe in first, it barely squeezes in without the tank. (well if you have a fx-1 chamber you might have an easier time) Grind the lip with a dremel until it gets near the hood seal. grease up the exhaust tubes and try to get the tank in there any way you can, I think I put the left side of the tank in first and then twisted, hard. I had a friend squeeze an exhaust tube.

Mine had to go because he limited chamber left no place for it. You don't need it anyway, many people just run a short hose connecting to the one way valve and have no problems. The seperator is necessary if you use the tube running up the pole

I agree, the lighter the better for me. But then again the river is in my backyard and we cant go too far up or down river before we get to either a new dam or houses with private docks. But its still probably close to 4 miles of open river that zig-zags along.

I normally don't run a separator either, but it's not a bad thing to have either.
As far as the larger tanks, for us guys on the coast, it's almost a must. One of the places I ride is a good 15 minute ride on my knees just to get to the break. Ride around for 1/2 an hour, and you have to start thinking about making the trip back to the launch for fuel. No place to really hide gas can either.
So, I'm really really really looking forward to this larger tank.

I ride around on 2 dollar worth of gas.

I don't see how you guys ride with all that fuel unless u gota go along way. I hate to put over 1/2 a tank. Just don't ride/run the same.

because you ride in a lake

its different when you are riding 1-2 miles out an inlet and then run a 45-60 minute session in the surf

this is not really designed as a flatwater mod.......
