Super Jet superjet rn midshaft bearing sealed?

is the rn sj midshaft bearing sealed ? Gonna grab one locally ad not sure if I need sealed or not?

yes, I just got one today from yamaha 93306-205U6-00 its sealed

Some don't know that those bearing seals pop off the actual bearing itself to allow re-pack the internal bearing for re-use...they are semi-sealed to hold grease in but the housing grease is the real seal against water...

also as another option, the blaster bearing is beefier/wider and used in the same housing but cost more...

so the koyo bearings with the rubber seal don't need the oil seal then right?

match up the bearing with oem type with the black seal on the side that will pop off and can be re-packed with grease....you still have three seals in the housing surrounding the bearing, one in front and two in the rear.

ok if I get that one then I don't need the oem oil seal that goes over the non sealed bearings right?

are the seals made by yamaha or koyo? I have an fx1 housing that has koyo on the spline side seal. Tryin to figure if the bearing shop would have the seals

Koyo makes them for Yamaha and oem say Koyo on them...bearing shops have them...

not a shortcut dummy. Same exact stuff that you would get from yamaha but I can get it local and not wait a week and it's less than half the price.... Do some research...

get the sealed bearing...you need one dbl lip seal for the rear and two single lip seals...

lol... I have learned way too much about midshaft/ housing/bearing from sj762...he has rebuilt many.

thanks.p! Sealed koyo bearing was 9.95 and koyo seals were 4$ a piece. Everything the same from yamaha was triple the price!
