superjet gunwale sucked in??

I was looking at my ski today and noticed that the right side gunwale looked to be sucked in? has anyone ever seen this before? should I be worried?

I am planning on cutting into it to install REVs this weekend. is there anything I should look for while im in there?

p.s it looks like its sucked in over a 1/4 inch I included one pic of the left side first for comparison...

Ok, so it has nothing to do with waterlogged foam? That is my main concern that it was sucked in somehow from water damage

every single round nose that has been in my possession has done it. Bluegtate got lucky and his only does it very very very slightly.

Alright well tanks for the reassurance I was worried that it was something more serious going on. I will be starting a build thread shortly...

two of mine dont have it but the one i bought from you has it real bad..i drilled a hole in the gunwhale to relieve the pressure and im gonna try to pry it out...

that old guy I told you about with the dyna foils has the opposite problem with his hulls, the foam over time expands more he says and causes the fiberglass to bubble out.

No, don't worry about it.

The reason why I think that this happens is because the foam gets beat in (compressed) when the ski lands on it's side.... the fiberglass is bonded to the foam, so when the foam gets beat in due to the fiberglass flexing, the fiberglass stays stuck to the foam, and that is what you get.

What makes me think this???

My boat had the same thing! Then When I cut my tray out, and dug out the foam, the side's went right back to normal.

Then I reinforced the sides from the inside of the tray, didnt put that sh*t foam back in it, and never looked back!!!!!
